Naisiai Community

The village of Naisiai was a rather unremarkable settlement with no special natural attractions or places of interest. Things started to change at the end of 2014, when a capsule with a letter from the inhabitants of Naisiai to future generations was buried in the ground, and the construction of the 200-metre-long, 160-metre-wide Baltic Arena with 16-metre-high slopes began. Later, the Lake of Happiness was excavated, the Naisiai Regional Museum was built, and an open-air sculpture park of the Baltic Gods was created. The landscape has been enlivened by the construction of the Forest Rings Trail, the creation of Rabbit Island, the Fire Square, the construction of a swing park, and the creation of a wide range of attractions for families with children to spend their free time in an interesting, active and enriching way. The village of Naisiai, with a regular population of around 500 people, is often called a phenomenon. More than 100,000 visitors from Lithuania and abroad visit it every year. Naisiai has more than 25 places of interest and a vibrant cultural life, including performances by the Naisiai Summer Theatre, literary prizes, visits from distinguished guests, the sober Naisiai Summer Festival, and many other events. All this is possible thanks to a very strong community in Naisiai. Its members maintain all the infrastructure, take care of the environment and organise various cultural events. In Naisiai, there are celebrations such as Užgavėnės, Easter, Mother’s Day, St John’s Day, Žolinės, and Baltic Unity Day. During the winter, it is home to the Christmas Town, where the Lithuanian Father Christmas resides throughout the festive season. The Agrokoncerno Group supports the activities of this community and contributes to other initiatives in the region.
