Naisiai Summer Theatre

In 2010, on the initiative of Ramūnas Karbauskis, owner of the Agrokoncernas group of companies, the Naisiai Summer Theatre was established. The talented, graduated and award-winning actors of the company pursue the main goal of reviving and spreading the art of theatre in all regions of Lithuania. Naisiai Summer Theatre is the only one of its kind in Lithuania, as performances and other cultural programmes are completely free of charge for the audience. The theatre has given many performances on both small and large stages, but it tends to travel to villages and towns where people have fewer opportunities to see professional theatre performances. From plays for children and adults, to musical performances and cultural events, the theatre’s name refers symbolically to summer, but it is active throughout the year. During its existence, Naisiai Summer Theatre has presented more than 17 premieres. On average, the company gives more than 100 performances a year in various Lithuanian cities, towns and rural areas. Around 30,000-50,000 people see the performances each year. Naisiai Summer Theatre is currently accompanied by a Ukrainian troupe that fled the war in Ukraine. Director Stanislav Moiseev and his actors, even in a very emotionally challenging period, have staged a play called “The Spiral of War”, which tells shocking human stories. The theatre company is also touring Lithuania with the musical programme “The Most Beautiful Ukrainian Songs”.
