“AgroITC”, the Innovation and Research Centre of Agrokoncernas, has become a certified research institution. The State Service for Plant Production under the Ministry of Agriculture, having evaluated the Centre’s activities and results, awarded it the certificate of Good Practice for Efficacy Testing of Plant Protection Products. This means that the field tests and analyses carried out by the “AgroITC “Innovation and Research Centre, which represents the business sector, are accurate, reliable and comparable to those carried out by scientific institutions. According to Arnas Radzevičius, Head of the Precision Technologies Department of UAB “Agrokoncernas”, this is an extremely important recognition of the Centre’s activities. “AgroITC’s” field trials and test data can be used not only to advise partners and customers, but also for research, registration and performance evaluation of new products. “We currently have about 1,500 fields where we test different plant varieties, cultivation technologies, plant protection and fertiliser solutions, and we share the data and experience with farmers,” says A. Radzevičius. According to Dr. Eglė Petraitienė, the certification procedure for “AgroITC’s” field trials and tests took about one year. “With this certification, we have reached the level of a scientific institution. It is also important because we can now carry out orders from other companies“, explains Dr. E. Petraitienė. Established three years ago, the centre carries out systematic and ongoing research on a wide range of major field crops – winter and spring cereals, winter oilseed rape, legumes and other intermediate crops. “We invest in science to get the best return from the business we know best. Our aim is to base agricultural decisions on accurate data, research and testing. By offering the best, proven solutions, we gain the trust of our partners and contribute to making agriculture more efficient“, concludes A. Radzevičius. https://youtu.be/n1fTazNFs-o
