“Agrokoncerno” group received guests from the Lithuanian Responsible Business Association (LAVA). The purpose of the visit is to get acquainted with the sustainability directions of the group, the integration of innovations into agricultural activities, and to take a close look at the practice of modern business responsibility.
The meeting was started by Arnas Radzevičius, commercial director of „Agrokoncerno“ group, who presented the challenges of the agricultural sector, possible solutions and future trends.

Head of the Sustainability and Innovation Department dr. Miglė Jakučionytė-Skodienė shared her experience, told about the path taken and the work done in one year.
“My team and I calculated the greenhouse gas emissions of the entire group – both the first (direct, including emissions from farms, mobile and stationary devices) and the second (related to purchased electricity and thermal energy). We performed a dual significance assessment and started preparing sustainability reports for UAB „Agrokoncerno“ group and UAB „Agrokoncerno grūdai“. We have opened a carbon credit program, to which we invite farmers to join as well,” Dr. Miglė Jakučionytė-Skodiene mentioned the work done.
She emphasized that the sustainability department oversees not only issues related to environmental protection, but also takes care of the areas of social responsibility – employee involvement, equal opportunities, strengthening of the organizational culture and responsible dialogue with the community.
“In the organization, we initiated events dedicated to the topics of diversity, inclusion and equal opportunities, conducted an equal opportunity ruler survey, updated the message channel and assembled a working group for the development of the organizational culture,” shared Dr. M. Jakučionytė-Skodiene.

After the presentations, LAVA members inspected the innovations used in the agricultural sector – the autonomous drone station “Dbox”, the guests were shown an agrodrone with a carrying capacity of 120 kilograms.
A. Radzevičius showed the five-acre test fields of the Innovation and Research Center “AgroITC” and told about the research conducted in them.
During the visit, LAVA representatives repeatedly emphasized that they were pleasantly surprised by both the technological progress of the modern agricultural sector and the attention to sustainability and the implementation of the principles of social responsibility.
At the end of the visit, it was agreed to continue such meetings. The next stop is “Ateities ūkis”, where the latest technologies and other advanced solutions are tried and tested under real farm conditions.
