The project "Mobile Laboratory"

Since 2011

The goal is to save lives and improve people's health in the regions

In 2011, the “Let’s Save the Men” initiative was launched, sponsored by the Agrokoncerno Group and implemented by Medicina practica laboratorija. The aim of this project is to provide men in the regions with the opportunity to be screened for prostate cancer, as access to these services is often difficult or non-existent in smaller towns and more remote regions.

The dedicated travelling laboratory has already visited more than 20 cities and towns, and the list is growing. In total, more than 40,000 men across Lithuania had the opportunity to be screened for prostate cancer. As many as 11% of them had elevated prostate-specific antigen levels. This means that these men have been advised to seek immediate specialist treatment for prostate cancer.

The mobile laboratory aims not only to test the health of men in rural areas, but also to inform them about other testing options, preventive health programmes and help with health problems. A few years ago, the “Let’s Save the Men” project was expanded due to the high demand for advice from health professionals.

The laboratory, which travels around the regions, now offers free tests for men and women in specially designed programmes. Men should have a complete blood count, creatinine, prostate-specific antigen, cholesterol and glucose. For women, complete blood count, creatinine, thyrotropic hormone, glucose and cholesterol.

The main aim of this project is to remind people that health is their most precious asset. Tests carried out by the Lab on Wheels help you spot risks and get help in time.

The tests carried out in the mobile laboratory are free of charge for people.
